Cape Baroque 1680 to 1780

 

 

 

Three distinctive variations of the leg denotes the three manifestations of the Baroque style at the Cape of Good Hope:

A: Slender turned baluster leg
H-, Box- or shaped X-stretcher between legs

B; Square, formless leg
H or box stretcher

C: Queen Anne Cabriole leg
No Stretcher
